Our Facilitators
CLAN WA uses a diverse and well experienced group of facilitators to provide our range of courses-
Bernie Rozario
Bernie is an accredited trainer with 23 years experience in business and adult education. Bernie facilitates life skills training for government initiatives, private enterprise and individuals.
Melva Marshall
Melva is a qualified teacher in Early Childhood Education and has a Diploma of Children's Services Management. Melva has experience in teaching, running a Family Day Care, childcare, including children with special needs and has worked for the past six years as Playgroup WA's Development Officer.Melva develops and facilitates courses and workshops for parents on child development, developmentally appropriate activities for children, communication skills, value of play and sibling rivalry.
Adrian Choules
Adrian Choules BA (Soc Sc) has a background in Education (Teaching, Administration and Research). He is married with four adult children. Adrian has been a volunteer with CLAN WA Family Support Program since Febraury 2003. He also volunteers his time with environmental groups.
Penny Spicer
Penny first joined CLAN WA as a Parent Link Volunteer in November 2003. During this time Penny has worked with many families to assist them to enhance their parenting skills. Penny is an experienced facilitator with sound knowledge in parenting and family issues. Penny enjoys the opportunity that workshops provide to reinforce CLAN WA's profile in the community. Penny is married with two young-adult children.
Kay Ward
Through her desire to live a passionate, fulfilling and creative life, Kay has become proficient in counselling, a variety of energy work, including flower essences, reiki and intuitive massage. She has a degree in relationship counselling and a background in co-dependency issues. Kay is also an experienced group facilitator, with an holistic style, working from her heart, practices the principles of awareness, a positive mind and self love. She has facilitated courses on topics such as parenting, healing circles, self empowerment, personal development, family systems, inner child, self matters, staying in your own skin and social artistry.
Rose Dennison
Rose has worked with children since 1980 in many capacities such as a Nanny, Teachers Aide, youth worker, prison officer and a Group Worker for 4 children residential homes. After raising 3 boys of her own she worked as a Support Worker for CLAN WA while studying. She ran her own In-home day care service before managing an Indoor playground. Rose is currently working in a child care centre and facilitating training groups for CLAN WA Rockingham and Mandurah.
Val Gandossini
Val Gandossini has a background in Early Childhood Education (B Ed) and a post graduate diploma in counselling and is the new training officer for CLAN WA. She has worked with CLAN WA for many years as Parent Link Coordinator in Rockingham from 2000-2007, project officer for 12 months and initially as a Parent Link volunteer. Val brings her own experience as a parent, teacher, relationship and substance misuse counsellor as well as group faciliation skills to her role. Her passion is supporting parents to ensure children are nurtured and receive the best start in life.
Linda Thorpe
Linda has been a volunteer with CLAN WA since 2006, and has a background in counselling and family support. Originally from the UK, she studied in London and spent her early career working with children and families. She has also worked as: a counsellor and supervisor for victims of crime, an advocate for the mentally ill, a group facilitator for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts, an education youth educator for teenagers, a mentor for young adults with special needs and a mediator, advisor and HR consultant to businesses and charities. Linda has qualifications in early years’ development and childcare, psychology, counselling and clinical supervision.
CLAN WA will strengthen family life by encouraging healthy relationships, effective parenting, support networks and community participation.
